Love Gillingham
The Love Gillingham project was set-up by Naushabah when she was a Councillor for Gillingham South ward in 2023, and is now work that she continues to lead on as the Member of Parliament for Gillingham and Rainham.

Background
Love Gillingham is a long-term project to regenerate and transform Gillingham Town Centre. The project primarily focuses on the High Street area, located between Gillingham train station and Medway Park.
This follows years of decline in Gillingham Town Centre, and a lack of investment, coupled with high levels of deprivation. Residents have become increasingly concerned about the future of the area, and there are fears of increasing crime, social challenges and the lack of an economic growth strategy.
The Love Gillingham project seeks to address these challenges, creating new opportunities and establishing a sustainable future for Gillingham.
Gillingham Taskforce
The Taskforce is chaired by Naushabah and is the main driver behind delivering regeneration across Gillingham. It is jointly led with Medway Council and supported by Officers from across core Council teams, such as Front-Line Service (waste management), Housing, Public Health and Planning. The police and local councillors are also in attendance. The Taskforce meets on a bi-monthly basis and agrees on regular actions, as well as future activity. Currently, its focus is on the following areas:
• Tackling ASB
• Street cleaning and tackling trade/residential waste
• Improving the look and feel of the High Street (greening, tree planting, tackling
graffiti etc)
• Tackling empty properties
• Building community relations
