It was a pleasure to join Unison South-east members for their International Women’s Day event and share a little about my journey into politics, the barriers I’ve faced, and why tackling discrimination against women in public life matters.
It was inspiring to meet women from across Britain who are working through the trade union movement to push for greater inclusion and stronger rights at work.
With over a million women members, many in vital but often low-paid roles in social care and schools, UNISON continues to play a crucial role in championing fairness and equality in the workplace and beyond.
