Today I hosted a local SEND roundtable and heard directly from parents, carers, and residents about the realities they face supporting children with SEND.
Families spoke openly about the pressures on education, health, and care services, and the impact this has on the whole family. I’m grateful to everyone who shared their experiences so honestly.
Listening to lived experience, and incorporating this into policy, is essential if we’re going to get support right. I’ll continue to take these conversations forward and push for better, joined-up support for SEND families in our community.
