The Government has just launched its Spending Review, investing in Britain’s public services and our national future. Here are 5 key takeaways from today’s announcement:
1. The biggest cash injection into social and affordable housing in 50 years, worth over £39 billion over the next decade.
2. Boosting our immigration system, with the Border Security Command receiving up to £280 million more a year, and an end to the costly use of hotels to house asylum seekers by 2029.
3. Backing our Hospitals, with an extra £29 billion a year to be spent on the NHS, an annual rise of 3% on current levels.
4. Fixing our schools, with £2.3 billion a year to fix crumbling classrooms, and a further £2.4 billion to rebuild 500 schools.
5. Reducing energy costs, with £30 billion investment in nuclear power to decrease energy bills in the long run.
